Purpose of Job:

Accurately and efficiently complete assigned tasks using a variety of equipment including RF barcode scanning devices, material handling equipment such as manual pallet jacks, stand-up and sit-down forklifts, WMS tools, and other shipping applications. Depending on location, may back-up non-CDL Hot Shot delivery drivers.

Job Components:

Accurately process system and manual transactions (receiving, transfer, pick, pack, ship)

  • Handle all product per the warehouse standards (receiving, transfer, pick, pack, ship)
  • Recondition and refurbish used batteries
  • Properly tag pallets (for transfer, pick, pack, ship)
  • Load and unload trucks safely
  • Follow all Environmental Health and Safety rules and policies
  • General warehousing duties (such as restocking shelves and housekeeping of assigned areas)
  • Interact professionally with all stakeholders including team members, managers and customers.
  • Perform other warehouse duties as assigned by management, including assisting customers and serving as back-up for non-CDL delivery drivers

Qualifications:
  • High school graduate (or equivalent)
  • Able to read, write and compute basic math
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Minimum of one year experience in warehouse operations - including RF/HH equipment, forklift, electric pallet jack and stretch-wrap machine.
  • Working knowledge of computers or ability to learn applicable systems required.
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role is preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task, quickly transitioning from one function/task to the next.
  • Demonstrates good organizational skills and can prioritize tasks
  • Works with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Approaches tasks with a sense of urgency
  • Must work effectively in a team environment
  • Able to work overtime if requested.
  • Be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 75 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Depending on the location, must have and maintain a valid state Driver's License with an acceptable driving record. DOT medical card may be required.
  • Must successfully complete a post-offer criminal background check and drug test prior to beginning work.

Scope Data:
  • Works under general supervision and guidance

    Accountable for individual accuracy and committed to learning from mistakes.
  • Shared responsibility of inventory valued at $500,000 - $3.0 million
  • Shared responsibility for process flow of 1.0 - 13.0 million pieces shipped per year out of the warehouse

Work Environment:
  • Exposed to battery warehouse conditions such as moving equipment, mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly required to use hands to grasp or handle, talk and hear, stand and walk.
  • Frequent, repetitive lifting up to 100 lbs. (team lift where appropriate)
  • Standing or walking for two-hour intervals
  • Repetitive taping of boxes
