Job Summary
The Material Handler will be responsible for preparing, listing and transporting various materials to and from the Nordson EFD facility. The transport of materials will involve driving company vehicles to our suppliers & customers throughout the local area. This role will also involve working with inventory to ensure proper organization and location of materials.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Load and unload trucks, deliver materials to the appropriate person or location
- Effectively communicate with supervisors, managers and other personnel on transportation issues
- Plan and prioritize work to complete all scheduled and non-scheduled activities in a timely manner
- Communicate inventory discrepancies to Inventory Manager
- Keep inventory well organized in the designated areas by warehouse locations
- Represent EFD with local suppliers and customers in a safe, professional manner
- Maintain & operate company vehicles with the utmost care and safety. Ensure cleanliness and
- Contribute to the success of team by submitting improvement ideas, identifying potential problems, providing feedback on procedure changes and by displaying a positive, cooperative attitude in working with others.
- Operate material handling equipment in a safe manner
- Operate forklift, other lift trucks and shrink wrapper in accordance with safety standards
- Comply with all relevant ISO procedures
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of material handling experience in a fast-paced environment, preferred
- Operating a company vehicle 50% of the time is a requirement for this role
- DOT Medical Certificate (health card) required
- Forklift experience is necessary
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Excellent communication skills
- Superior organizational skills
- Basic computer skills needed to accurately enter data for inventory control
- Ability to read, write & speak in English is necessary along with basic math skills (must be able to accurately count and multiply)
- Attention to detail is a must
- Must have the ability to be flexible with work schedule, including the ability to work overtime
TRAVEL REQUIRED: Estimated: 50% (Local travel is part of this job. Material transport is done via Nordson trucks.)
