Hays, in partnership with a prominent real estate development, management, and investment firm, excels in crafting a wide range of impactful properties. Their portfolio includes luxury office buildings, expansive retail spaces, and mixed-use developments. Currently, they are actively searching for a VP of Facilities & Engineering to oversee the commercial portfolio in West Palm Beach.

Your new role

  • Review and enhance best practices for preventive maintenance, repairs, and SOPs.
  • Develop and update SOPs, protocols, and procedures.
  • Create a continual improvement plan for energy and sustainability initiatives.
  • Actively participate in strategic mid and long-range budget planning.
  • Expand energy-reducing building improvements and test emerging technologies.
  • Develop and implement a 5-year major capital project planning strategy with senior leadership.
  • Provide initial onsite staffing recommendations and review with senior leadership.
  • Develop and implement internal training programs for engineering staff.
  • Recommend additional formal training to keep staff updated on advanced technologies and practices.

What you'll need to succeed
  • 10-15+ years of experience in the field, including 7-10 years in a supervisory role.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Facilities, or Construction Management preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of commercial buildings.
  • Thorough understanding of building systems, including HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, BMS, Fire & Life Safety, and related systems.
  • Strong project management and interpersonal skills to coordinate, manage, and communicate effectively with various levels of staff.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Proficient in using software packages such as Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project.
  • Capable of handling high-profile clients with strong written and verbal communication skills.
