About the Role

Our VP, Design - Men's will set the strategic design, tone, look and feel direction across the Old Navy Men's division. This leader will inspire and develop Active design team to enable high performance, both in quality and quantity, of aesthetically relevant creative outputs as well as collaborate and productively partner with cross-functional peers.

What You'll Do

Stays abreast of competitive landscape & forward facing trends
Filters trend through the lens of the brand & Old Navy customer.
Identifies and researches new designs or businesses that will enable Old Navy to achieve its short and long-term strategic, market share and revenue goals.
Accountable for driving positive impactesults through design for entire Old Navy Men's division.
Adjusts product strategies to address in-season business performance and/or consumer insights.
Defines, champions and protects the brand aesthetic. Communicates a Design vision and strategy for entire ON Men's division.
Leads a team of Directors and Designers to create compelling, brand-enhancing product. Manages team to align seasonal collection across categories and ensure fashion fashion key items, and Active apparel basics are consistent with the Old Navy brand customer and aesthetic.
Partners closely with design and concept peers to help guide overall trend direction for the brand on a seasonal basis.
Partners with print and graphic design peers to provide context and guidance for print and graphic development as it relates to Men's design.
Approves seasonal collection to ensure that product matches key themes and messages, big ideas by shop and flow. Approves design direction.
Responsible for Leading Men's Design team in all aspects of the product design process to include market research, mood board creation, designing, sketching, specing and fit for entire area.
Fully responsible for ensuring that product is consistent with market trends as well as business strategy; interprets international/domestic concepts and fashion trends as it relates to market demands, company image and business strategy.
Oversees selection of fabric and guides team on long-term fabric strategy and direction.
Fully responsible for identifying and executing opportunities for process improvement and working with direct reports on communicating and executing those improvements.
Accountable for executing deliverables in a timely manner as consistent with the brand calendar.
Develops a high performing Design team; accountable for inspiring and leading a team to enhanced performance. Leads by example using internal metrics and filters.
Selects, trains, motivates and evaluates staff.
Provides Men's design and aesthetic expertise to cross-functional teams in Merchandising and Sourcing/Fabric R &D and Production.
Develops and maintains strong internal relationships with Design, Merchandising and Sourcing/Production counterparts.

Who You Are

College degree in Fashion Design or related field.
Minimum 10 -15 years of product design/development experience with a strong record of people management
Extensive experience in apparel design and development. Deep experience in print, pattern and color required.
Experience managing large cross-category and cross-functional design teams.
Excellent leadership/management skills
Ability to set overall creative tone and lead a complex creative design process.
Aesthetic/Taste level - Has a keen understanding of styling as it relates to our brand, and knows how to translate trends through the lens of the customer and brand filters.
Product Development - Understands design techniques and graphic and textile design processes.
Color/Construction - Has a great eye for color; understands the possibilities of fabric and construction; looks for new and innovative ways to use color, fabric, and details in design. Applies to all of the above through the lens of the customer and brand filter.
Strong Presentation and Influencing skills - Is able to create and make presentations in a variety of settings and styles and use effective negotiation and influencing skills to gain consensus.
Ability to manage budget and evaluate ROI on all programs
Extensive worldwide travel experience; frequent travel may be required.

Salary Range: $255,300 - $351,100 USD
Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.
