The Vice President Category Management is responsible driving overall growth, managing category profitability and collaboratively building a great customer experience. (S)he will drive the management, development and planning of insight led category, product and seasonal programming strategies for a multi-brand portfolio generating sales to deliver annual operating goals. The Vice President Category Management also is responsible for ensuring Shamrock lives up to our motto of "Treating Associates as Family and Suppliers as Friends".

(S)he will lead a high-performing team, in a high-paced environment, that continuously assesses products and services to deliver unparalleled customer experience. (S)he will also lead the enterprise in our strategic partnership with the Independent Marketing Alliance (IMA).

Essential Duties:

• Lead, manage and develop category management personnel to become best-in-class in the foodservice industry.
• Lead the enterprise as the strategic thought-leader in category management, merchandising and supplier relations.
• Lead the development of the enterprise category strategy and work with the category management team in growing category performance across the Company to ensure objectives are met.
• Adjust category strategies as required to drive overall category performance, including sales growth and improved gross profit.
• Guide and influence effective business planning of forecasting/supply to stay ahead of our customers and the marketplace.
• Collaborate with senior sales and branch leadership to tailor category management strategies to leverage opportunities, assist with obstacles and drive performance.
• Develop and maintain the process of prioritizing the right product initiatives and communicates the scorecards of each of the initiatives across the enterprise
• Benchmark category performance against the industry to determine targeted market penetration.
• Construct a clear understanding of cost drivers and external benchmarks across the categories identifying value levers to create tactics enabling incremental value.
• Develop defendable pricing strategies for the categories and the enterprise. Work with the
• Merchandising group with recommended operator cost based on market conditions.
• Present to the branches the current status, financial benefits and upcoming opportunities of IMA and Shamrock RFP's. Aggregate feedback and leverage as the voting member on behalf of Shamrock.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Mathematics, Supply Chain or related field. Master's degree in applicable fields is preferred.
• 10+ years of Category Management, procurement or product marketing experience
• 5+ years of experience leading teams
• Foodservice or retail experience a plus
• Experience interacting with Senior Leadership, Customers and Vendors on a frequent basis and is capable of running complex projects and presenting findings and conclusions to a broad, executive audience.
• Must have a strong working knowledge of purchasing, planning and business intelligence software and demonstrate expertise in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Experience with financial analysis and modeling
• Must be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department which may be subject to evenings, weekends and holidays.
