2pm to 8pm 30 hours a week
Operates vehicles in accordance with Mass General Brigham Fleet Safety Program Policies and Procedures, as well as in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Reports any damage or inoperative equipment to Supervisor or designee immediately. Reports vehicular accidents according to department policies and procedures.
Maintains the interior while the vehicle is under operator's control.
Maintains an accurate log, documenting numbers of passengers, trips completed, items delivered and other pertinent information.
Utilizes the scanning and phone system to accept and complete tasks.
Performs other duties as assigned.
When operating cargo-type vehicles (including, but not limited to, delivery vans and trucks):
Transports, picks-up/delivers goods and materials to various Mass General Brigham sites using vehicles owned, leased, or rented by the Transportation Department.
Responds to STAT or on demand requests. Picks-up/delivers materials, packages, specimens, etc. to locations throughout the network.
Responsible for the safety and integrity of all cargo while in his/her possession.
Delivers mail, packages, computers, specimens coolers, pallets, crates, cartons, bags, carts, linen, food, and other cargo to designated sites in a safe and timely fashion.
When operating passenger van-type vehicles:
Transports passengers in a safe and courteous fashion between designated stops on an established route to/from specific sites.
Ensures the safety and comfort of passengers on the vehicle. Assists passengers with disabilities and others needing assistance to board and disembark from the vehicle.
Maintains schedule and adheres to established routes.
Uses discretion to deviate from prescribed routes when environmental conditions and/or special events create traffic congestion (with consultation from External Transportation Dispatch).
May also be required to transport light cargo, mail, radiology films, medical records, specimens, and other small items between sites when operating a passenger vehicle equipped to carry these items.
Qualifications
Current valid Massachusetts Driver's License.
Candidate must fill out a Driver Record Release form, a clean driving is required for this role.
Candidates MUST be 21 years or older, as they will be utilizing Rental Vehicles.
Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to work as a team member.
Ability to lift 50 pounds
