Job Summary

The Estimator (Integrated Solutions) assists the pre-sales team and customers during the sales process focused on factory and 3rd party integration. This position provides technical input into bid proposals, projects and technical documents within the sales process and identifies additional sales opportunities with existing customers. The estimator collaborates with sales, engineering, operations, and the solution architect teams to develop and recommend products and services to meet customers' requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of detailed material take-offs and quotations for large scale prestigious integration projects in diverse applications throughout NA
  • Assist in developing clear, concise, and technically sound tailored solutions for customer review and acceptance based on customer requirements and/or RFP's, ensuring proper scope and required technical specifications are met.
  • Assist with equipment selections and technical calculations to meet requirements of various Vertiv products.
  • Apply Quote Configurator tool to provide comprehensive quote support.
  • Maintain positive, progressive, and productive attitude toward plant targets and objectives regarding reliability, accountability, safety, integrity, quality, and productivity as a unified goal.
  • Provide technical support to Bid management teams.
  • Analyze customer's technical specifications and one lines, apply appropriate product offerings to meet the customers' expectations in a cost-effective and timely manner, and provide alternative solutions to optimize profitability while meeting customer needs.
  • Follow up on opportunities to confirm if they have been won, lost, or abandoned.
  • Update sales force with quotation information as well as assist with orders once they are received to ensure expedient handover of order to project manager.
  • Other duties as required.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or related technical field or equivalent experience; Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • 4+ years Industrial or relevant commercial experience preferred.
  • Experience in technical scope review and formal proposal development preferred.
  • High level of technical knowledge with the application of electrical distribution products and systems.
  • Excellent team player and demonstrated ability to perform and prioritize multiple, simultaneous tasks while maintaining excellent customer service.
  • Strong understanding of data center infrastructure design objectives, performance factors, and physical requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of commercial infrastructure design objectives, performance factors, and physical requirements.
  • Knowledge and experience with evaluating single line diagrams (SLD), relay PLC schemes, and communication network diagrams (media & protocols).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Travel Required:
    • 5% or less
