Job Description:
As a Supply Chain Planning Engineer you will perform analysis to identify and develop business improvement opportunities with increasing scope and complexity to evaluate return on investment (ROI) of the opportunity. You will ensure linkage between product value stream teams and end-to-end value chains to meet or exceed customer order to delivery market requirements. In addition, you will support the development and execution of end-to-end value chain network improvement activities, including strategic process transformation, value chain planning, inventory buffer design, demand management, value chain performance, and overall value chain costs. Responsibilities
• Responsible for our supply chain modeling 3 prime product facilities and their supporting value chains and leveraging the model recommendations to manage large wheel loader (LWL) inventory

• Identifying, defining, leading implementation of integrated supply chain solutions and performance improvements, including building internal and external alliances to explore opportunities.
• Establishing and strengthening effective linkages, partnerships, and best practices with business partners and internal functions.
• Investigating and incorporating industry benchmarks, metrics and best practices to develop optimal supply chains for suppliers and/or product sets.
• Leads the development and analyzes data and information to identify and prioritize opportunities for improving performance and creating more cost-effective supply chains, inventory utilization, and business partnerships .

Top Candidates Will Have:

• Degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Supply Chain Analytics, Operations, Purchasing experience or related field
• Network modeling experience using in-house or commercial tools such as Supply Chain Guru, Llamasoft, or similar

• APICS CSPC National Certification

• Understanding of Caterpillar bill of material (BOM) structure
• Understanding the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process

• Organizes potential problem solvers and leads problem resolution efforts.
• Uses varying problem-solving approaches and techniques as appropriate.
• Contributes to standard practices for problem-solving approaches, tools, and processes.
• Analyzes and synthesizes information and devises alternative resolution strategies.
• Develops successful resolutions to critical or wide-impact problems.

Supply Chain Management - MFG:
• Advises others on capacity issues at various points in the supply chain.
• Monitors the complete supply chain management process.
• Consults on supply chain network design projects or processes.
• Quantifies and evaluates benefits and risks of various supply chain strategies and approaches.

Additional Information:

The primary location for this position is Decatur, IL

Domestic relocation assistance is available

Travel will be up to 10%

Summary Pay Range:
$110,520.00 - $165,840.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
