Primary Purpose:



The Forklift Operator position is responsible for making preparations for shipping and unloading all trucks, and taking full responsibly of making sure all incoming and outgoing shipments are correct. They will be required to complete all responsibilities in accordance to SOX Compliance Standards.





Essential Functions:



* Assist with checking in all orders and paying close attention to detail when viewing labeling and pallet contents.
* Compares, identifies information and counts, and measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
* Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons and ensure all labeling is correct with back-flushing labels.
* Assist with unpacking and examining incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages on paperwork, and relays information to the receiving clerk.
* Examines incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure shipments and materials documentation match.
* Create and process Bill of Ladings and ensure all paperwork documents are correct.
* Assists truck drivers by checking them in and out in a timely manner, and ensure signatures of all bills of lading.
* Move pallets to designated holding locations by operating a forklift.
* Will occasionally lift and carry from 5 to 75 lbs. within 3 to 10 ft.
* Will occasionally push and pull 40 to 50 lbs. of parts on manual pallet jack within 10 to15 ft.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:




Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required
Experience: 1 -- 2 years of previous work experience in a shipping & receiving environment.
Skills: The ability to comprehend and follow instructions.
The ability to work independently and in a team work environment.
The ability to work in a fast-paced, often changing environment.
The ability to properly assess and prioritize tasks.
They must have the ability to lift 5 -- 75 lbs. and push/pull 40 -- 50 lbs.



This position requires the ability to effectively communicate information both verbally and in writing with other employees.
