We are currently looking for an ambitious Senior Systems Engineer to join our Endovascular Robotics business within Advanced Therapies. We are a global technology leader in robotic-assisted vascular interventions. We believe the combination of endovascular robotics, image guidance and dedicated devices will change the way neurovascular procedures will be done in the future, enabling better outcomes, and enabling our customers to provide better access to care.

As a Senior Systems Engineer you will be responsible for:

  • Managing standards compliance strategy including verification and validation as applicable for a complex medical robotics program
  • Serve as an advocate for compliance on new product development teams and contribute to product design decisions with a compliance mindset
  • Working with cross functional teams to ensure that design inputs appropriately capture applicable clauses from applicable standards
  • Working with cross functional teams to ensure that all standards compliance is adequately verified and validated
  • Managing external partnerships with vendors contracted for product development such as third party compliance labs, test houses etc.
  • Support requirements definition and risk management for portions of the program
  • Drive continuous improvement for systems engineering and quality processes

  • Strong knowledge of applicable medical device standards such as IEC 60601-1 and collateral standards
  • Working with complex sets of multi-layered product requirements
  • Planning and execution of verification and validation of medical devices
  • Working with project execution/management tools such as MS Project and Azure DevOps
  • Working on complex electromechanical medical device programs through the verification and validation phases
  • Familiarity with IEC 62304 and working on a medical device with complex software or software as a medical device
  • Familiarity with IEC 80601-2-77 or other robotically assisted surgical equipment standards
Required skills to have for the success of this role:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required in engineering discipline, such as Systems, Biomedical, Robotics, Software, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years relevant technical experience in the medical device industry (medical/surgical robotics experience preferred)
