Summary of Role:
Maintain and support equipment readiness. Installing new tools, driving and collaborating with the supplier on equipment issues and/or upgrades and supporting the manufacturing floor. The individual will provide technical leadership to optimize equipment capability, quality, and utilization through CIP to meet Metrology goals. Cross functional activities will include partnering with process and equipment engineers, facilities, environmental, safety, quality, logistics, and repair personnel to achieve Metrology and FAB8 targets.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for owning production readiness of specific toolset(s) as assigned by the Manager.
  • Work with equipment suppliers, vendors, maintenance technicians, and cross-functional teams on equipment Preventive Maintenance (PM) or Corrective Maintenance (CM), tool proficiency, and fleet matching.
  • Documentation of PM plans for all equipment and optimize PM for quality, cost, and productivity.
  • Strong focus on keeping timelines and driving cost-savings initiatives with focus on cost/budget control, support of yield, and continuous improvement activities related to MTR equipment.
  • Must be mechanically inclined and able to lead hands on, tactical troubleshooting efforts to resolve long term performance issues; must be able to deconstruct and understand complex systems to identify root cause of equipment failure.
  • Continuously improve and create robust equipment procedures and methodologies for high volume manufacturing using, but not limited to, statistical tools, DOE and techniques, data driven decision-making, and systematic problem-solving skills.
  • Support start-up of new or relocated equipment, as well as sustaining existing tools. Drive the installation and qualification of new tools from facilities hookup, vendor startup, to equipment acceptance for production and volume ramp.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to effectively identify root cause of equipment issues. Responsible as equipment point of contact for driving resolutions, documentation and closure of events, and post-mortems.
  • Develop and train the equipment maintenance technicians. Create materials and perform training of technicians working on tools in your assigned area

Other Responsibilities:
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements, and programs both inside and outside the cleanroom.
  • Work in close collaboration with Process and Manufacturing teams

Required Qualifications
  • Education - BS degree in Engineering: Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or closely related engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Experience - Minimum of 2+ years engineering or equipment maintenance experience on 300mm equipment in semiconductor manufacturing industry.
  • Skills - Excellent interpersonal skills, energetic, motivated, and self-driven.
  • Strong organizational skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, able to react to shifting priorities to meet business needs, and the ability to meet deadlines and commitments.
  • Fluency in English Language - written & verbal
  • Physical Capacity Demands - Must be able to work in a cleanroom environment per semiconductor industry and GlobalFoundries protocol requirements, wearing all required clean room protective clothing and equipment and lift a minimum of 30 pounds on a periodic basis during tool maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Preferred 2+ years of Metrology specific engineering in semiconductor manufacturing industry.
  • Understanding and knowledge of basic semiconductor/silicon processing, Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE) and familiarity with 5S, 8D, FMEA.
  • Coding experience in VBA, Python, C++, MATLAB, SQL or other coding languages that can be applied to automation of tasks.
  • Experience using trace data analysis using FDC & OEM's application (ex. E3, Equipment Realtime Charting etc.).

Expected Salary Range
$63,500.00 - $142,000.00
