Title: Sr. Counsel - Government Contracting

Position Description
McKesson seeks an experienced government contracts attorney with four to six years of law firm or in-house (company or government) legal experience supporting contracting with federal, state, local, and tribal governments. This role will report to McKesson's Managing Lead Counsel, Government Contracting and advise McKesson Medical-Surgical Government Solutions on an array of government contracts issues.
Primary responsibilities
- Provide legal support for McKesson Medical-Surgical Government Solutions' pursuit and performance of federal, state, local, and tribal government contracts
- Develop close working relationship with business stakeholders to facilitate efficient and effective review of solicitations and preparation of proposals
- Work directly with business leaders and other members of the General Counsel Organization ("GCO") to identify and address risks and issues raised by contracting with the government
- Represent McKesson Medical-Surgical Government Solutions in engagements with government attorneys and contracting professionals
- Collaborate with other attorneys and members of the GCO and business teams that engage with government customers to advise, develop and implement appropriate compliance processes and controls that appropriately address government contracting requirements
- Serves as a legal advisor to business unit leaders on a wide array of topics relating to segment needs, including legal risk mitigation, customer management, strategic initiatives and compliance programs
- Experience with the healthcare industry or other areas of federal oversight are desired
Minimum Qualifications- Juris Doctor Degree and a member in a state bar

- Knowledge of federal, state, and local government contracting rules
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to provide sound, clear legal advice within the company, including senior business executives
- Ability to adapt communication style depending on the recipient's level of sophistication about legal issues
- Comfortable working on multiple projects concurrently
- Business acumen dealing with risk management and organizational savvy
- Ability to work closely with, facilitate interactions within, and influence large cross-functional teams (including representatives from other areas of the GCO regulatory and compliance professionals, sales professionals and operations managers)
- Must be a team player who can develop strong working relationships and work collaboratively with internal clients and other members of the legal team

Our Base Pay Range for this position$147,300 - $245,500
