GDH Consulting is hiring a highly skilled Sr Behavioral Research Scientist to join our team on a part-time/on-call basis. This role is pivotal in providing expert facilitation and instruction for behavioral threat assessment and management training programs. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of behavioral science, with a specific focus on threat assessment and management to prevent targeted violence. This position offers a unique opportunity to leverage your extensive experience in a role that significantly contributes to public safety and security. Responsibilities:
- Facilitate and instruct courses on behavioral threat assessment and management, tailoring content to meet the needs of diverse audiences.
- Conduct thorough assessments of potential threats through various means, including electronic media and the Internet, to identify and mitigate risks.
- Utilize Structured Professional Judgement Tools to inform decision-making processes and threat assessments.
- Engage in case-associated interviews to gather critical information and insights related to potential threats.
- Develop and implement effective mitigation strategies for cases involving potential threats, including victim intervention, referrals for professional evaluation, and law enforcement intervention.
- Maintain current knowledge of research and advancements in the field of threat assessment to ensure best practices are applied.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including law enforcement and mental health professionals, to manage and monitor ongoing cases.
- Advise on the development and implementation of threat assessment policies and procedures to enhance organizational security.
Qualifications: - Minimum of 12 years of experience in behavioral threat assessment and management.
- Proven work experience on a threat assessment team and handling cases involving concerning behavior such as threats, stalking, and workplace violence.
- Expertise in identifying and assessing threats through electronic media and the Internet.
- Proficient in the use of Structured Professional Judgement Tools for threat assessment.
- Experience conducting case-associated interviews and developing mitigation strategies.
- Comprehensive understanding of current research and advancements in the field of threat assessment.
- Knowledgeable about threat assessment policies and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively facilitate training and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Availability to work on a part-time/on-call basis as required by the program's needs.
