BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer for an opportunity in Jersey city, NJ Hybrid!


Position Title: Software Engineer

Location: Jersey city , NJ (Hybrid)

Anticipated Start Date: Tentative Start Date

Expected Duration: 12 months contract to hire.

Job Type: TEMP TO HIRE], [HYBRID]

Pay Range: $62 - $65

Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.).

Job Description:

Proficient in application development skills for more than one technology as well as multiple design techniques
Working proficiency in development toolset to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies with ability to work in at least one of the common frameworks
Strong understanding of techniques such as Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Test Driven Development, Cloud Development, application resiliency and security
Proficiency in one or more general purpose programming languages
Working proficiency in a portion of software engineering disciplines and demonstrates understanding of overall software skills including business analysis, development, testing, deployment, maintenance and improvement of software

Skills:
* Working proficiency in developmental toolsets
* Knowledge and experience working in an Agile environment
* Familiar with development tools such as Jenkins, Git/BitBucket, Jira, etc.
* Knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
* 5+ years of experience with server based Operating Systems such as Windows 2016/2019 (Red Hat Linux/Unix a plus)
* 5+ years with database systems such as Oracle and SQL Server
* Practical working experience with high-availability (clusters, failover) and networking (latency, load balancing, firewall) concepts
* Knowledge of data architecture, data modeling, database design and data warehousing.
* Expertise in at least one technology stack designing, coding, testing, and delivering software
* Experience with reporting, business Intelligence and visualization tools (i.e. Tableau, PowerBI, Cognos, etc.)
* Experience with functional, user acceptance and performance testing.
* Ability to quickly develop subject matter expertise and working knowledge of business processes; i.e., the ability to understand 'the business' and the impact of technology solutions
