Job Summary
This respiratory services coordinator will provide support for the sleep clinic with non-invasive ventilation patients, PAP data management, endoscopy program support, and DME/PAP utilization support for patients.

Qualifications

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide clinical teaching and troubleshooting for clinic patients using positive airway pressure (PAP) or noninvasive ventilation devices. Includes:

  • Mask fitting
  • Instruction in proper device usage and data transmission
  • Assist with patient acclimation to treatment
  • Cleaning, maintenance and safety of equipment.
  • Implement and follow-up on prescribing clinician orders
  • Arterial blood gas measurement

Coordinate clinical and data issues with Durable Medical Equipment (DME) vendors.

Develop and implement remote data monitoring program for PAP users

Assist in administrative and clinical coordination for drug induced sleep endoscopy program (DISE).
Coordinate, deliver, setup, download and instruct patients on use of testing equipment, including:
  • Home sleep apnea tests (HSAT)
  • Oximetry
  • Actigraphy
  • Dim light melatonin onset assays

Other responsibilities as determined by Clinic Director and Practice Manager.

FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY:

Increase clinic revenue through:
PAP remote data monitoring program

Implementation of home sleep apnea testing program
Cost savings for institution from labor transferred from other employees with less expertise to one more efficient and experienced at these tasks.
Monitor PAP compliance data allowing physicians more time with clinic visits

Reduce need for additional personnel by freeing admin staff to accomplish checkin/out, vital signs and scheduling tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist. BLS.

SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

2+ years experience in respiratory care. Sleep focus and experience preferred. DME experience preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Generic, lifting 25/50 lbs. Indoors 100%.
