Position Purpose:This position works as part of the Dartmouth Library Research Data Services team to develop and deliver a robust suite of research data services to meet and advance research and curricular needs at Dartmouth. The person in this position will coordinate, develop, and provide computational research project support, with a focus on advanced computing environments and collaborations, and assist in the development and implementation of research data infrastructure across Dartmouth. This role serves as the artificial intelligence lead for the Dartmouth Libraries, guiding Research Data Services efforts, collaborating with key campus partners on AI development, and providing guidance on uses of artificial intelligence across the libraries.This is a hybrid work location eligible position.

Description:Develops and implements cutting-edge and advanced quantitative methods and techniques in statistics, programming, machine learning, and related areas as needed to support more computationally-intensive research projects. Partners with researchers and Information, Technology & Consulting (ITC) staff to develop, program, review, or troubleshoot custom analyses and workflow pipelines and Dartmouth's computing infrastructure to optimize and complete multiple short- and long-term research projects. Ensures that indigenous, culturally, or personally identifiable sensitive data adheres to relevant protocols and informed best practices.

Description:Leads in the development of data and analysis project support in a dynamic and collaborative academic library environment. With support from relevant Research Data Services team members, guides faculty, staff, and students on comprehensive data analysis and visualization projects from conception to dissemination. In coordination with various campus and library departments, manages projects to facilitate the use of extended and contextualized research data services and infrastructure.

Description:Provides instruction, outreach, and consultations on advanced computing concepts for faculty, students, and staff to expand computational research skills (including data discovery, curation, management, storage, analysis, visualization, and preservation) as needed for curricular or research projects.

Description:In partnership with the Head of Research Data Services and related teams, assists in the development of a comprehensive platform and suite of advanced technical services and infrastructure to support and advance interdisciplinary digital scholarship at Dartmouth.

Description:Monitors trends and best practices in library and industry-based artificial intelligence and research data efforts, with an emphasis on open data/software and ethical data use. Recommends and facilitates improvements to existing programs and services, and participates in internal training and professional development for Dartmouth Library and related staff.

Description:Participates in professional development activities, which may include research related to research data and artificial intelligence; committee service at the library, campus, state or national levels; publication; continuing education; and professional association activities.
