The Senior Product Manager is a highly experienced member of the Product Management organization focusing on a major business category. They have the depth and the capacity to proactively analyze business case information to build higher quality products and work with Henny Penny R&D leadership to streamline the product life cycle process to ensure breakthrough innovation.
What You'll Be Doing
- Communicate and maintain effective dialogue with all levels in the organization to ensure the business is getting the appropriate level of vison, guidance, and support
- Plan and lead customer visits and capabilities presentations
- Be an expert and advocate for multiple product categories with intimate knowledge of our customers, their operations, and trends in the industry.
- Oversee the development of product pricing strategies that encompass value and market position
- Develop and monitor key product metrics and perform quality and cost control reviews based on these metrics
- Be the consultant on the prioritization of all resources/projects regarding a product category
- Lead the creation of product budgets and prepare budget documents for review by the management team
- Assist with the development and regular review of product strategies
- Incorporate input from market and industry trends and competitive dynamics and articulate a compelling long-term product roadmap for the category
- Outline needs and opportunities for market research and customer visits to identify requirements for current and future products
- Lead New Product Development teams throughout the Stage-Gate and/or Agile-Scrum life cycle.
- Outline need for training and promotional materials in support of Product Category
- Serve as mentor and/or train Product Managers
- Consistently models the Company Values and Expected Behaviors
- Other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or a technical field including an MBA.
- 5+ years of professional experience with 3+ years of product management experience
- Must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; big-picture vision and the drive to make it happen.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, including giving presentations to large groups
- Excellent organization, and time-management skills
- Demonstrated leader who is self-motivated, a team player, and has a desire to grow, based on his/her performance.
- Ability to work with highly technical products at a global level
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results and meet project deliverables and timeline.
- Ability to consistently handle a large volume of work effectively
- Ability to travel nationally and internationally to support trade show and customer visits as needed.
- Proven leadership and the confidence to prioritize and make tough decisions
- Proven success delivering comprehensive product roadmaps to fuel future growth in new and existing product categories and services
- Experience and ability to coach and guide people
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products
