Vertiv, a global leader in network power solutions, seeks a Senior Manager, FP&A - Global R&D to join our Global FP&A team. The successful candidate will be the primary business partner for our Line of Business (LOB) leaders. This role will lead a global team to provide analysis of plans and results, lead the annual and monthly forecasting processes, model business outcomes, and provide business decision support, as well as other tasks critical to serving as a business partner to Vertiv R&D leaders. The ideal candidate is committed to root cause analysis that delivers insight, not just information, and regularly displays an inquisitiveness that craves continuous learning and drives continuous improvement.
This position is located at our Global HQ's in Westeville, Ohio.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with R&D line of business leaders to develop and execute strategic plans to drive new product development across the globe.
- Fixed cost management (~$250M+ budget) including monthly variance analysis, preparing monthly forecasts, and conducting ad-hoc investigations to deliver against SG&A cost targets
- Evaluate capital requests to ensure they follow accounting requirements and align with Vertiv's strategic vision.
- Partner with Human Resources and LOB leaders to determine global resource planning
- Lead financial business plan development for the LOB, including completion of budget models, based on market dynamics and strategic business plans.
- Support the development of a 3-year plan, showcasing which technologies Vertiv plans to invest in and the financial implications of these decisions.
- Prepare executive level presentations and work directly with leadership.
- Support the complete integrity of Vertiv financial information through vigilant accounting and reporting accuracy.
- Review functional activities to identify continuous improvements to the business.
- Support the broader mission of the finance and accounting function as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS - 10-12 years+ of finance or accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting or M.B.A required
- Experience in large multi-national company or Big 4 accounting firm preferred.
- Experience managing/supporting a multinational team.
- Strong analytical skills, including ability to think about complex issues using scientific/critical thinking approach to solve problems and make sound judgments.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to discern from available data what should be pertinent to upper levels of management.
- Ability to communicate to all levels of the organization, from the C-Suite to the shop floor.
- Profoundly inquisitive with the desire to consistently exceed expectations.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office tools
- Experience with SAP, Oracle, or another ERP system a plus
- Experience with Hyperion Essbasse or Hyperion Financial Management also a plus
