OVERVIEW
The Senior Information Technology Security Analyst carries out the daily operations of Sun Communities Information Technology Security Program, ensuring the effective functioning of all associated procedures and controls. This role involves mentoring and providing technical leadership to junior staff members. Responsibilities also include implementing and overseeing IT security systems to safeguard the organizations enterprise applications, servers, networks, and data. The position serves as the primary lead for all cloud security initiatives and takes charge of incident investigations. Additionally, the analyst monitors computer networks for potential security threats, installs necessary security software, and meticulously documents any security incidents or breaches that occur.
JOB DUTIES
- Implements Suns IT Security Program and supporting policies and procedures.
- Monitors IT Infrastructure and technologies for security threats.
- Oversees cloud security in our multi-cloud environment.
- Leads in the investigation of security breaches and other cyber security incidents as directed.
- Analyzes security incidents to identify root causes and recommend preventive measures.
- Assesses and helps design security controls for new and existing systems.
- Reviews and recommends security solutions to enhance overall security posture.
- Monitors and analyzes real-time security event data for security threats.
- Manages and configures security tools such as AV solutions, SIEM, Application allowlisting toolset, etc.
- Manages application and end-user security technologies and configurations.
- Participates in audits necessary to validate Suns IT Security Program effectiveness.
- Implements effective application and end-user security processes and technologies.
- Performs risk assessments; implements changes to reduce identified risks.
- Identifies and recommends improvements to security tools, best practices, and procedures.
- Recommends enhancements to Suns Security Awareness Training for all team members.
- Maintains preparedness for security-related emergencies and malicious events by testing playbooks and leading table-top exercises.
- Collaborates with IT teams, management, and external partners on security initiatives.
- Provides technical leadership and mentorship to other IT Analysts.
- Stays updated on emerging security threats, technologies, and industry trends.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in in information technology or related field (Required)
- 5 years information technology experience
- Cloud Security Certification
- SIEM tuning experience
- Experience with securing various cloud platforms (AWS & Azure)
- Understanding Scripting technologies
- Understanding of project management principles
- Willingness for continuing education to stay up on the latest threats and technologies
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
