Department Information

The College of Arts and Sciences Office of Undergraduate Curriculum, Policy, and Records (OUCPR) manages all aspects of the College's undergraduate curriculum, including academic programs (majors, minors, certificates, etc.), courses, academic policies, the College Bulletin, student records, special programs, and curricular information systems and reporting.

Job Summary

Department-Specific Responsibilities

  • Serves as lead architect and administrator of Academic Advising Reports (AAR) in the Academic Systems and Information division of the Office of Undergraduate Curriculum, Policy, and Records (OUCPR), which supports the College divisions as well as the School of Art, Architecture, and Design; School of Global and International Studies; and the Media School.
  • Leads the design, development, documentation, implementation, maintenance, and support for Academic Advisement Reports for all College degree objectives (degrees, majors, minors, and certificates) within the SIS system.
  • Analyzes requirements to identify changes and ensure backward compatibility of those changes.
  • Consults with the stakeholders on the design and implementation of the AAR and the translation of curriculum and policies to the design and development of the AAR.
  • Serves as the primary user support and trainer for those academic systems within the College of Arts and Sciences.
  • Develops reports, performs data analysis, and audits information systems.
  • Serves as primary contact for the resolution of all technical issues regarding AARs for the Office of Undergraduate Retention and Achievement and Office of Student and Career Success as well as the Student Records and Services and Curriculum Compliance and Support divisions of OUCPR.
  • Manages and supervises one direct report in the College digitization project of student files.
  • Audits and approves digitized records for use in OnBase platform.
  • Provides guidance to the Database Coordinator Information on daily tasks.
General Responsibilities
  • Provides analysis and programming related to the design, development, and support of systems.
  • Consults with stakeholder(s) and senior peers to define system requirements, problems, and proposals; conducts studies and assists in presenting detailed requirements/designs to stakeholder(s).
  • Documents systems analysis and programming efforts (changes, new functionality, issue/problem resolution); performs system unit and integration testing.
  • Researches and stays up-to-date with new standards, tools, and emerging technology and services.
  • Ensures that all protocols used in the design and programming of systems are up to date and compliant with university policies and standards.

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in computer science or related field

Working Conditions / Demands

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

$50,000 - $55,000 per year based on experience
