Dynamic team at a leading insurance services firm in downtown Los Angeles is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant. This hybrid position offers flexibility to work both remotely and in-office. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of accounting experience, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to manage complex financial tasks. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, month-end close processes, and supporting senior management with critical financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of financial statements, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate recording of transactions.
• Prepare detailed financial reports for management, highlighting variances, trends, and opportunities for operational improvement.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors during audits and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Review and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions, ensuring adherence to company policies and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing training and guidance as needed.
• Assist with the development and implementation of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
• Analyze complex accounting data and provide recommendations for process improvements or efficiencies.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the insurance or financial services industry.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA certification a plus).
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles, with the ability to apply them to complex financial scenarios.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBooks, SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
• Solid understanding of insurance industry financial processes and regulations is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and handle complex accounting tasks independently.
