Description: Our client is currently seeking a Scientist - Aerosol Formula (Contract)


Job Title: Contract Scientist

Summary: The Contract Scientist supports business needs as outlined by the Director of Future Sun Technology and the Senior Manager of Package Development. This role involves developing research investigation plans and conducting research related to sun care and packaging technology developments. The Contract Scientist performs in-depth analyses and integrates data from multiple tests to present comprehensive findings and recommended actions. Additionally, the role assists in product development and the implementation of new methods specific to sun care technology.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct, manage, and support lab-scale aerosol package filling and testing.
  • Perform aerosol package physical property and product bulk/propellant ratio combination testing, including spray rate, pattern, and particle size.
  • Capture critical data and report findings monthly to key stakeholders.
  • Maintain communication with cross-functional teams to ensure requirements are met.
  • Identify and report workflow improvements (Ways of Working - WOW).
  • Write regular progress and test reports, and provide technical support in meetings regarding project progress.
  • Design and execute assigned research investigations consistent with international standards.
  • Present information coherently and accurately reflecting research results.
  • Apply up-to-date statistical analysis procedures for product, process, and consumer data investigations.
  • Utilize technical tools for testing and data management (automated data collection systems, statistical software, Microsoft Office, Product Lifecycle Management, etc.).
  • Demonstrate initiative, independent thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and multitasking abilities.
  • Maintain and expand knowledge base within the area of work.
  • Participate in cross-functional and project teams, providing technical expertise.
  • Conduct all activities in line with company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintain good documentation practices for records and data.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with 3+ years of work experience, or an advanced degree in Science or Engineering (M.Sc. or Ph.D.).
Preferred Education, Skills, and Experience:
  • Experience with sun care product development, including formulation and packaging protocols.
  • Basic understanding of product, process, and consumer-based research as a scientific discipline.
  • Ability to translate internal customer needs into actionable studies.
  • Project coordination skills, including design, execution, analysis, and reporting.
  • Proficiency in applying and developing methodologies, including quantitative and qualitative testing, statistics, and design of experiments.
  • Ability to function as a collaborative team member in a business environment.
  • Solution-oriented professional with the ability to execute multiple tasks to meet project objectives.
  • Effective communication skills within and across departments.
  • Good documentation practices for records and data.
