We are seeking a Scientific Program Manager to support the National Institutes of Health's (NIH), world renowned National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) in Bethesda, MD. Responsibilities

  • Recommends and assists FTL in implementing policies and procedures related to the organization's scientific programs.
  • Collects, analyzes, and creates scientific program information.
  • Coordinates workshops and reports their outcomes.
  • Evaluates current scientific IT programs and makes recommendations to FTL if changes need to be made.
  • Assists with analyzing current scientific IT programs and developing and proposing new initiatives.
  • Collaborates with management and prepares reports to keep them updated on new and ongoing programs and activities.
  • Assists the FTL in coordinating with US and international institutions to support development of data intensive science capabilities in low to middle income countries.
  • Analyzes current policies and procedures, suggests and makes recommendations to FTL for improvements.
  • Assists in preparing and making recommendations to FTL for development of future strategic plans.


Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Biology, Life Sciences, or a related discipline or equivalent is required.
  • 15+ years of technical and specialized experience in genomics and bioinformatics technologies and platforms.
  • Experience in applying technology to advance research in infectious and immune mediated diseases.
  • Strong communications skills, both oral and written.
