A key member of the site operations team who will be responsible for running packaging equipment to package rubber cases for use in medical device manufacturing. This position requires knowledge of automated packaging equipment, a good understanding of process capability studies and how they are used, as well as problem solving skills using root cause analysis.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensure that all equipment is maintained in excellent condition through preventive maintenance and repairs.
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic issues, etc.
  • Perform setup, changeover, and adjustment of equipment according to established procedures.
  • Operate equipment safely, efficiently, and within specified parameters.
  • Monitor and control production processes to ensure they are operating satisfactorily.
  • Conduct regular checks on products being packaged to ensure they meet required specifications.
  • Assist in training new operators.
  • Maintain records of production runs, including material usage, downtime, and product quality.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate protective gear while working around machinery.
  • Adhere to all relevant regulations and laws pertaining to food processing.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the packaging department.
  • Knowledge of automated packaging equipment and their components.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Basic math skills for calculating measurements and quantities.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities using root cause analysis techniques.
  • Good communication skills for communicating with other departments such as engineering and management.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to learn new tasks and adapt to changes in technology.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) occasionally when needed during production runs.


Work Environment:
  • BD is a smoke-free campus. Smoking and the use of electronic smoking devices, marijuana, or tobacco products are not allowed on BD property, grounds or in the parking areas. We appreciate your cooperation in adhering to this policy
  • False eyelashes, press-on fingernails, and Jewelry is not allowed on the production floor including dermals. Any associate wearing dermals will be required to cover them while working on the production floor.
  • Shoes are required to be Steel Toe and non-slip for all associates while on the production floor for safety purposes.
