We are seeking a RN for a primary care clinic in Groton, CT!

Location: Groton, CT 06340

Hours: 8:00-5:00, scheduled in advance for 1-2 evenings "late closer" until max 6:00pm, 1 hour lunch break

Days of the week they'll work: Monday through Friday

Type of certification required: Registered Nurse license in CT

Work type: Contract

This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Support the care team and its patients by providing and documenting nursing care following established standards and practices. Document all patient interactions and other clinical activities accurately and in a timely manner in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Triage patients according to approved protocols and consistent with ProHealth?s Appointment and Scheduling Guidelines. Answer and document patient phone calls; take complete messages and route to providers as needed using the EHR
• Carry out standing orders (i.e., authorizing prescription refills and ordering tests) consistent with ProHealth's policies and procedures. Educate patients regarding their illness or injury and provide instruction regarding self-management of their condition.
• Act as a member of the care team, including preparing patients to be seen by collecting and recording (as applicable): Height and weight, Temperature, Current medications and Chief complaint and history. Provide and document patient care such as giving injections and performing preventive screenings.
  

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Active CT Registered Nurse license
• Family practice nursing experience
• Phone triage experience
• Experience working on an electronic health record and knowledge of medical terminology
• Experience administering immunizations and injections
