Description

Are you looking to gain experience in the Mental Health field and complete internship hours.

Behavioral Health Network (BHN) has internship placements available in our Respite and Adult CCS programs and are accepting application for the upcoming Fall/Spring semesters.

Qualifications:

• Enrolled in an accredited Bachelors, Master's Degree or higher school of Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling or Psychology Program.
• Some experience and interest in working with adults with chronic mental health issues
• Day time availability 7am to 3pm, Monday through Friday
  • Springfield-(1) 2nd year Masters level student with some prior experience
  • Holyoke - (2) Bachelors or 1st year Masters level
  • Westfield- (2) Bachelors or 1st year Masters level

The student should possess a high motivation to work with individuals who experience psychiatric crisis, mental health and substance use issues. Observation, listening skills and the ability to empathize with those we serve, are key components of this placement.

• Creative-get and implement new ideas for activities
• Flexible-adapt to a job that in some ways is different every day, be able to start and stop projects without completely losing control of the workflow, be prepared for emergencies
• Able to work independently-run groups and activities with minimal supervision
• Able to understand the safety needs of an acute care environment.
