The University of Chicago has a tradition of innovative interdisciplinary scholarship in the social sciences applied to health and health care. Discoveries at the interface of health and the social sciences address some of health care's most critical problems. These include the relationship of individual and population health to social capital and human capital and neighborhood contexts, to the economics, organization and management of social institutions and policies. The Biological Sciences Division, other academic units of the University, and the University of Chicago Medical Center, are all contained within one compact campus in Chicago's Hyde Park. Appointees will have access to state-of-the-art facilities and to outstanding colleagues and graduate students affiliated with numerous degree-granting programs across the university.
