Position Summary:
The Quality Control Associate I is responsible for the receipt of test samples from manufacturing to Quality Control (QC). During the receipt process, this person will ensure the proper documentation is received, completed, and filed according to site Standard Operating Procedures along with ensuring the sample labels and samples are distributed to the proper QC department. In addition, this role will communicate with other Zoetis locations to organize the shipment of samples to those locations. Other job duties may include, but not limited to achieving of testing documentation, monitor Building Management System (BMS) alarms within the department, prepare documents for regulatory agencies, and provide back-up assistance to the QC Systems Specialist in SAP zLIMS, which tracks all testing and test results or other QC Administrative functions. This role must complete all tasks in accordance with all applicable cGMPs, Corporate/site procedures, and regulations and policies.
Position Responsibilities
- Receive and distribute test samples to applicable QC areas for testing.
- Communicate and correctly document shipments of test samples to other Zoetis locations.
- Maintain appropriate departmental cGMP documentation.
- File, scan, archive of testing documentation.
- Monitor Building Management System (BMS) alarms within the department.
- Prepare documents for regulatory agencies.
- Provide back-up assistance to other QC Administrative functions.
- Follow all Zoetis Quality Standards, Policies and Procedures.
- Help support budget attainment through cost controls.
Education and Experience
- High school education or GED required.
- Post High School education in the Sciences, Business, or other related disciplines preferred.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment and/or QC Coordinator I level is beneficial.
- Good mathematical, science, and computer skills.
- Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills required.
- Strong communication skills required.
- General knowledge of the following software programs: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to work well independently and as a part of a team, and ability to work effectively with people at all levels within the organization.
Physical Position Requirements
- Must be able to walk, sit, or stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to reach above shoulder level, bend/stoop, kneel, push/pull, and handle/grip frequently.
- Must be able to work scheduled 40 hours with the ability to work overtime as needed.
- Frequent lifting and carrying of 5 to 25 lbs. Occasional lifting of heavier items up to 40lbs.
- Regular reaching, bending, stooping, and twisting.
- Repetitive motion and substantial movement of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
