Description:
Position Title: Plant Manager
Division: Manufacturing
Reports To: Head of Production Operations
Backup: Head of Production Operations and Production Supervisors
FLSA Status: Exempt

Overview:
The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the production processes and ensuring the quality of the company's manufacturing units. This role requires expertise in production techniques, maintenance, and food safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain in-depth knowledge of production processes, maintenance procedures, and food safety standards.
• Oversee the unit's human resources in line with approved policies and current legal requirements.
• Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., OSHA, FDA, Wage and Hour laws).
• Develop and monitor internal control systems.
• Make business decisions based on sound financial and ethical principles.
• Provide analytical support to senior executives.
• Implement industry standards, including KPIs, best practices, and performance benchmarks.
• Lead and mentor staff to ensure effective succession planning.
• Coordinate activities of departments involved in food processing.
• Develop and maintain systems for tracking production and quality control, and analyze reports to identify production issues.
• Review financial statements, sales reports, and other performance data to assess productivity and identify areas for cost reduction and program improvement.
• Handle challenging staffing issues, including managing understaffing, resolving disputes, terminating employees, and administering disciplinary actions.
