Physics Full-Time Tenure-Track Faculty PositionFall 2025

Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 8,000 students in graduate and undergraduate programs. The university is located in the borough of Kutztown in a charming rural setting, and is within 20 minutes driving time of the diverse metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and within 60 minutes of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The university is very interested in hiring employees who have had extensive experience with diverse populations.

The Department of Physical Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the physics program at the Assistant Professor level commencing August 2025. The KU physics program consists of four tracks: (1) Physics, (2) Engineering Physics, (3) Engineering Technology, and (4) Astronomy. A Ph.D. in physics or a related field and an appropriate record of teaching experience at the college level are required. The status of ABD will be considered with the conferral of a Ph.D. by August 2025. The successful candidate is expected to teach introductory and upper-level courses in the program. Evidence of commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and research is required. The teaching load consists of twenty-four contact hours per academic year. The successful candidate is expected to develop an active research program that involves undergraduate students. Candidates whose interests complement and enhance our existing academic and research programs are especially encouraged to apply. Research startup funds are negotiable.
