Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Content and Patient Communications and collaborating with the School of Medicine communications team and department communicators, the photographer plays a key role in developing and executing photography projects from concept to completion. This position contributes to the School of Medicine's communications and public relations strategy by researching, planning, capturing, editing, and organizing visual content that tells the School of Medicine's brand story. The photographer will create impactful visuals that resonate with key audiences, reinforcing the School of Medicine's reputation as a leading institution for attracting and educating top-tier students.

As a member of the content team, the photographer will serve as a resource for colleagues across the School of Medicine, upholding visual standards and utilizing creative and innovative photography techniques to enhance storytelling. The role involves managing projects independently or collaboratively, seeing them through all stages of production.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalency and two years of visual/graphic arts experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:

Proven experience as a communications professional with a focus on producing compelling visual content, particularly in photography.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships across departments to align with the School of Medicine's strategic goals.

Expertise in developing and delivering engaging content across multiple platforms, including photography, video, digital media, and basic graphic design.

Proficiency in social media platforms, with a solid understanding of best practices and trends for effectively sharing visual content.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey ideas and collaborate with teams.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:

Preferred candidate will have knowledge in marketing, communications, journalism, and/or public affairs.

Preferred candidate will have experience in public relations, content development, and/or creative management.

Special Physical/Mental Requirements :

Ability to lift and carry photography equipment with or without an accommodation.
Ability to be physically active for long periods of time during photo shoots with or without an accommodation.
