Job Description Summary
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center is seeking an AP/CP board eligible/board certified pathologist to join our Team. The department signs out general surgical pathology with an emphasis on gastrointestinal and genitourinary pathology. Duties will include case sign out, frozen sections, call coverage, participation in clinical conferences/tumor boards, and teaching of residents and fellows 2 months per year. Autopsy coverage 2 weeks per year. Faculty appointment is available with this position. Position is open to AP/CP trained candidates with surgical pathology fellowship.
Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree. Board certification in Anatomic Pathology from the American Board of Pathology or equivalent and an unrestricted PA medical license/eligibility are requisites.
Clinical responsibilities include sign-out and frozen section coverage at Presbyterian Hospital. Occasional sign out at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania may be required.

The job pay range encompasses the full range of employees from new hires to the salaries of Penn employees with many years of experience and seniority and is not a precise indicator of salaries of new hires when looking at the top end. Based on what we pay employees coming into this position our pay range is $200,000-$400,000 based on education and experience above the minimum qualification.
Qualifications :
MD or equivalent, with training in surgical pathology is required. Training/experience in gastrointestinal pathology is desired. Clinical pathology training is required and eligibility/board certification in clinical pathology is required. Blood bank interest and opportunity for leadership position to serve as blood bank director is available.
