Wellstar Medical Group is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for the pediatric trauma service line in Augusta, GA to provide that care consistency, perform required alcohol use screenings and mental health screenings and make the needed referrals. We are seeking an advanced practice provider that will work in the pediatric program to support the pediatric trauma verification practice to include the child abuse team that will provide expert knowledge in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for the pediatric trauma patients. The pediatric trauma service admits approximately 200 registry patients annually, and those numbers are expected to grow as the CSRA continues to grow.

Required Minimum Skills

- Participate on AM rounds M-F which includes evaluating and presenting the patient to the attending.

- Keeping track of all consulting service recommendations and relevant follow-up.

- Provide assistance in daily progress notes and discharge summary.

- Place consults in a timely fashion.

- Follows up throughout the day on labs, consults, additional studies

- Update and manage problem list in the EMR and on the patient list

Specific Additional Duties Assigned:

• Communicate with the patient and family and update them on plans of care along with any changes (positive and negative) in condition or management.

• Communicate plans of care to the nursing staff daily, including plans for hospital discharge.

• Sign out pertinent patient issues to the Pediatric Surgeon Attending prior to leaving for the day.
