Position Overview/Responsibilities for the Payroll Tax Specialist:

 

- Support the payroll team in the analysis and processing of payroll to ensure accuracy and compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.
- Assist in the overall improvement of payroll processing efficiency and accuracy.
- Verify and validate payroll tax application and lead the reconciliation of payroll tax accounts.
- Perform research of newly imposed payroll taxes to provide proper guidance and understanding of correct application.
- Assist with setting up new locations with local payroll tax withholding obligation, registration with local agencies, and filing of all local services tax returns.

Required Skills for Payroll Tax Specialist:

- Minimum of 3 years of payroll and payroll tax experience.
 Proficiency in Kronos and ADP Enterprise (Version 5 or 6).
- Tax filing experience with knowledge of federal and state government payroll tax regulations; to include wage garnishments.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word.
- Strong communication, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated and independent, with the ability to manage their own tasks.
