Ledgent is partnering with a construction company in the north east metro (near White Bear Lake/Roseville area) on a Payroll Admin job. This company is big on work/life balance and team work (close-knit team that works well together). Flexible scheduling (anywhere from 6:30-8:30 start time).

Responsibilities:

  • Weekly Payroll Processing: Accurately process weekly payroll for employees in multiple states, adhering to state-specific wage and tax regulations.
  • Union Payroll Management: Process payroll in accordance with the terms of agreements from various unions, ensuring compliance with dues, benefits, and wage structures.
  • Certified Payroll Reporting: Prepare and submit certified payroll reports in compliance with state and federal prevailing wage laws for public works projects. Ensure the accuracy of project-specific wage rates and documentation.
  • Multi-State Payroll Management: Administer payroll across multiple states, ensuring compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, and unemployment insurance.
  • Prevailing Wage Compliance: Ensure all payrolls comply with federal and state prevailing wage requirements, including proper wage calculations for different job classifications and trades.
  • Timekeeping and Data Reconciliation: Collect, verify, and reconcile employee time records, including hours worked, overtime, and special pay categories such as holiday or premium pay.
  • Employee Deductions: Accurately process and track deductions related to union dues, garnishments, benefits, and other payroll-related contributions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with field leaders to ensure accurate payroll processing and timely reporting.
  • Payroll Audits and Reporting: Assist with internal and external payroll audits, including maintaining proper documentation and ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Resolution of Payroll Issues: Address and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee inquiries, and payroll-related issues in a timely manner.

Requirements:
  • 2+ years of payroll experience
  • Background in the heavy equipment construction industry, preferred.
  • Familiarity with timekeeping systems and certified payroll reporting platforms.
  • Strong understanding of multi-state payroll tax laws and union wage structures.
