Department Information

Marketing and Communications Department within the Office of the Vice President forDiversity, Equity, and Multicultural Affairs (OVPDEMA).

Job Summary

Professional videographer focusing on art of creating videos using artificial and/or natural lighting. All footage owned by OVPDEMA.

Department Specific Responsibilities

  • Uses artistic and creative skills to capture various people, places, and events, in various settings.
  • Produces videos, including b-roll.
  • Processes photos as needed to achieve optimal image quality or desired configuration for various uses such as printed brochure, displays, video deliveries, social media, and others.
  • Stores photo images as needed/required on CITO, BOX, or other designated resource areas for images as designated resources.
  • Maintains good time management skills.
  • Be prompt for assigned work.
  • Meets tight deadlines.
  • Attends team and project meetings.

Qualifications

A combination of minimum education and minimum experience qualifications can be considered

EDUCAITON

Required
  • Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University
  • 2 years of college in video production, photography, digital cinematography or related field
WORK EXPERIENCE

Required
  • 2 years of practical training in videography with an apprenticeship program, vocational school, or studio training program
  • 2 years experience in digital photography with 1 year experience using Adobe Creative Cloud applications (Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator)
SKILLS

Required
  • Familiar with the basics of video production ¿ audio, lighting, video editing and post production
  • Ability to create motion graphics
  • Ability to color correct and match footage from various cameras
  • Technical ability to work with a wide range of videography equipment and technology
  • Video editing skills with current software products such as Adobe Premiere, Apple iMovie, or Nero Video 2017, etc.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Ability to build and maintain rapport with faculty, staff, student, parents, representatives, and community

Bloomington, Indiana

Advertised Salary

$14.50 per hour

Work Hours

  • Sunday through Saturday week-day with day and evening flexible hours.
  • Duties and schedules are flexible as assigned by the supervisor based on programs, events, and needs of OVPDEMA.
  • Not to exceed a maximum of more than 29 hours per week across all positions of employment held with Indiana University.
