Summary of Role: This role is specific for Malta NY. The requisition is for a Process Engineering position on the Diffusion FVX Thermal Batch Processing team. This position will be on the Advanced Manufacturing Team and will report through the module management team to the larger AME structure. The core responsibilities of this team involve ownership of process integration of semiconductor devices; monitoring performance and driving improvements related to technology yield, Cp/Cpk of inline and electrical parameters, defectivity, and more. The team is also responsible for the development of new and emerging technologies through definition/execution of experiments and technical data analysis.

Essential Responsibilities:

Develops and modifies process formulations, methods, and controls to meet quality standards. Typically performs one or more of the following in capacity of either an individual contributor (as directed and/or independently):

Work with equipment, shift, manufacturing, integration, and device teams to ensure production wafer quality and on time delivery. Engage with industrial engineering and equipment teams to ensure on time qualification/release of new tools.

  • Mentor and train technicians on shift to support quality and delivery metrics for 24x7 fab operations.

  • Create, analyze, and review technical SPC (statistical process control) charts.

  • Establish SOP (standard operating procedure) and FMEA (failure mode and effects analysis) for related process.

  • Review product development requirements for compatibility with processing methods to determine costs and qualification schedule.

  • Integrate equipment and material capabilities to meet process module and technology specifications.

  • Drive CIP (continuous improvement plans) to improve process performance.

  • Work with cross functional teams to deliver organizational goals.

  • Work and collaborate on other projects and/or assignments as needed.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

  • Ensure that Quality is a focus when making data-based decisions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education - BS/MS degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Solid State Physics, or other relevant engineering physical science discipline is required.

  • Experience - Minimum 6 years in semiconductor industry, with good understanding of manufacturing equipment.

  • Understanding and working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and/or Design of Experiments (DOE).

  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with diverse teams, customers, internal and external partners.

  • Fluency in English Language - written & verbal

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education - Masters or PhD in semiconductor or technology related engineering.

  • Fundamental knowledge in the areas of large-scale furnace processes, CVD, ALD, or annealing processes.

  • Experience and understanding of high-volume manufacturing.

  • Project management skills - i.e., the ability to innovate and execute solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong planning & organizational skills.

Expected Salary Range
$91,600.00 - $170,000.00

The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
