Position Purpose:

This individual is responsible for meeting purchasing needs for assigned areas of commodities and/or services including planning, requisition review, process and system input and supplier selection through delivery.

Essential Functions:

• Initiate, develop, implement, and track cost reduction programs for MRO items.

• Coordinate and lead Division MRO Supplier Performance Reviews.

• Negotiate and react to price changes from suppliers.

• Negotiate short and long term contracts with suppliers.

• Track and report plant spending.

• Track and control plant supplies.

• Assist with administrative projects.

Education and Training

• Associates Degree in Supply Management, Business or a related field preferred or 7-10 years experience in a purchasing related function.

• CPM or CPIM certified or pursuing certification preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

• Knowledgeable of MRPII purchasing applications.

• Ability to negotiate effectively.

• Minimum of 3-5 years experience in a purchasing related function.

• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

• Excellent PC skills, including Microsoft office programs.
