Under the direction of the evening manager, performs a wide variety of manual and automated laboratory procedures utilizing independent judgment and maintaining responsibility for assigned duties. Must be familiar with all phases of the chemistry and hematology laboratory to include urinalysis and urine microscopy. Must be computer literate and have a basic understanding of computer interfaces. Must also be familiar with specimen processing protocols for both inpatient and outpatient procedures.
Qualifications
Required Education:
1. Minimum: Must possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Chemical, Physical, or Biological science from an accredited college or university
OR
2. Other qualifications as described in the Federal Register, 42 CFR, Subpart M 493.1403 - 1495.
License/Certifications required:
ASCP certification or equivalent (e.g., AMT)
OR
ASCP Eligible
Experience:
Experience as a Generalist, ideally min of 2 years but will consider less.
