Description: Our Client is seeking a Medical Assistant in Elgin, Texas!

Job Title: Medical Assistant

Job Type: Contract

Location: Elgin, Texas 78621

Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Monday - Friday)

Rate: Dependent on Experience

Job Responsibilities:

• Greet patients as they arrive and manage 20-minute wait time.
• Assist patients with intake processes, including copying required documents.
• Collect co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles, and issue receipts.
• Manage cashier box and daily deposits according to company policies.
• Process walk-in patients and visitors.
• Answer phones and schedule appointments.
• Manage medical records (maintain, file/scan, prepare for schedule).
• Ensure all correspondence is scanned and/or filed in a timely manner.
• Process requests for medical records release and maintain appropriate logs.
• Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• 1+ years of experience working within a medical practice or front desk in a medical practice.

Ideal Candidate Background:

• High school graduate or GED required.
• One to two years of related work experience, including data entry.
• Working knowledge of medical office procedures and medical terminology.
• Ability to accurately sort and file materials by alphabetic or numeric systems.
• Effective communication and customer service skills required.
• Intermediate proficiency in PC software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other departmental-specific programs/applications).
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
