We are looking for a Manufacturing Process Engineer (MPE) to join our Central Machining Team. This is an exciting opportunity to utilize your manufacturing & project management skills and to become an associate owner of an amazing company! In this role you'll be responsible for ensuring the manufacture of high-quality consumable components from raw material to their controlled inventory location. The manufacturing process includes multi-axis CNC lathes and mills, manual and automated pressing/assembly equipment, as well as laser marking and packaging equipment. You'll also lead process improvement projects and initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma practices to enhance quality, reduce cost, improve safety, and increase earnings for our 100% Associate-owned organization.
Who you are and the experience you bring:

  • Define the work methods for a specific production area consisting of several work cells. Identify process improvements and lead projects to improve product flow through work cells.
  • Ensure safety procedures (lockout, job safety analysis, personal protective equipment, machine guarding, and ergonomics) are developed and integrated into production processes.
  • Provide daily support to production teams for technical issues that arise. Provide training and support in programming, operation and maintenance of all equipment in the work area.
  • Ensure production area processes operate within quality metric targets. Identify trends in quality performance and execute root cause analysis and develop corrective action plans.
  • Design tooling, fixtures and workstations essential for new product introduction to the production cells.
  • Participate in the investigation and purchase of new equipment and tooling. Provide input into the equipment/process technology road map. Develop maintenance schedules for all equipment within assigned work cells.
  • Create and maintain all documents used to control the manufacturing process including but not limited to Engineering Change Orders (ECO), routing, bills of material, standard work in each cell, value stream maps and quality data collection sheets.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering
  • 2+ years of experience with CNC machining in a manufacturing environment. We will consider more junior candidates for a lower level position.
  • Must possess an affinity for getting to the root-cause of a problem, not be afraid of "taking the lead" and get excited about both implementing new technology and continuously looking to improve the current.
  • Independently motivated, collaborative team player
  • Ability to participate in and/or lead Kaizen events or other continuous improvement activities with proven results
  • Project management experience
  • Tool set: lean manufacturing, statistical analysis (minitab), geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), Solidworks, VSM, DFM, Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (pFMEA) and structured problem solving
Preferred experience that differentiates you:
  • Experience facilitating Kaizen events
  • New product introduction experience
  • Project Management Certification
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
  • Master's Degree in related field
  • Allen Bradley PLC programming and troubleshooting
  • Automated assembly design & setup

$63,029.82-$105,051.76 AnnualThis is the base pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire.
Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors.
