Our Kent, WA location at OMAX is currently recruiting a full time Manufacturing Process Engineer. Join our team today! (Open to hiring at the engineer or senior level depending on the experience of the candidate)

Position Overview

As a Manufacturing Process Engineer, you will use your experience with Lean and Six Sigma practices to regularly seek process improvements. This position will play a crucial role as a technical expert and change agent to drive improvements in assembly ergonomics, value stream capacity, test fixture design, cost, and new product development.

Who you are and the experience you bring:

  • Identify, develop, refine and deploy new manufacturing processes to improve quality, reduce cost, and reduce lead time
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing or assembly issues, including special testing and assistance in identifying the root cause. Recommend formal corrective actions to operations or engineering for product design improvements.
  • Lead and coach team members on the process, equipment, and analytical approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
  • Review new products for Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Testing (DFT), and support New Product Introduction (NPI).
    • Deployed analytics that drive efficiencies and improved Costs through manufacturability considering internal and external factors while working closely with Engineering, Quality and Procurement teams.
  • Using LEAN manufacturing methodologies assist manufacturing teams in setting up lines and cells to build new and existing products
  • Coordinate with Product Engineering to ensure models/drawings and specifications accurately define all manufacturing, quality, and reliability standards
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
  • Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aeronautical or Aerospace engineering with a minimum of 5 year's relevant manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes, including electro-mechanical assembly, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with any of the following: Lean Manufacturing, Statistical Analysis Software, GD&T, VSM, DFM, pFMEA, dFMEA, Structured Problem Solving
    • Implemented/ deployed and sustained SMED methodology across a Value Stream.
  • A passion for seeking and delivering process improvements
  • Outstanding collaboration skills, a flexible and friendly approach to working in teams, and the attitude to always strive for the best outcomes
  • Knowledge of production machinery, machine programming, machining processes, assembly tools, and processes
  • Proficient with CAD software Solid Works (or equivalent) and MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Preferred experience that differentiates you::
  • Project Management experience
  • Six Sigma Green/Black Belt Certification
Travel: Up to 10% per year

$69,333.42-$115,552.61 AnnualThis is the base pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire.
Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors.
