General responsibility for Manufacturing Engineering planning and support for the introduction of new products. Works collaboratively with the Plant Manager and Mfg Engineering Manager as required in long- and short-range planning for manufacturing capability, processes, methods, layout, tooling, machinery and establishing manufacturing cost estimates. Oversees all manufacturing engineering activities for new product introduction and solves manufacturing problems. Also responsible for supporting continuous improvement efforts collaboratively with the plant manager and Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and execution of New Products being introduced into API
  • Development of manufacturing plans and objectives including staffing requirements, capital equipment and expenses.
  • Implementation and execution of those plans throughout the manufacturing organization.
  • Reviews performance against operating plans. Provides reports on interpretation of results and approves changes in direction of plans. Presents results to the General Manager both in writing and in formal presentations.
  • Defines and recommends objectives in each area of operations. Develops specific short-term and long-term plans and programs, together with supporting budget requests and financial estimates.
  • Continually seeking new methods, tooling and manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and cost competitiveness.
  • Maintain control of manufacturing expenses and financial budgets.
  • Implement new systems and procedures that render manufacturing operations more effective, efficient and profit oriented.
  • Forges strong and positive relationships with all employees to assist us in achieving our goals of high productivity and profitability.
  • Resolves problems using solutions that involve new technologies, techniques and/or concepts.
  • Analyze technology trends, human resource needs and market demand to plan projects.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of new technologies which may improve operations, and develops recommendations accordingly.

  • Minimum Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
    • Experience in a Manufacturing Aerospace, Defense or other regulated industry
    • Experience in the implementation/utilization of Lean and Six Sigma Principles
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen
