Resource Industries Segment:

Resource Industries (RI) offers a wide array of products and services tailored for mining, heaving construction, quarry and aggregates and material handling, including advanced technology like fleet management, equipment management analytics and autonomous machine capabilities.

The RI segment is comprised of four divisions: Integrated Components & Solutions, Resource Industries Operations & Products, Resource Industries Sales, Services & Technology and Strategic Procurement & Planning Division.

Role Definition:
The Manager of Value Chain Engineering is responsible for engineering support to design product value chain and resource planning working with logistics, operations, product and process engineering, product support and lifecycle management in order to achieve customer availability requirements and internal financial commitments.

Responsibilities:
• Managing staffing, development, and performance management programs for value chain engineering teams; motivating and developing project and team leaders.
• Designing and implementing the end to end value chain for a product with a keen focus on inventory, assurance of supply, cost and quality
• Managing high-impact, long duration value chain engineering continuous improvement initiatives and projects; ensuring achievement of engineering plan and product quality.
• Managing risk and recovery related to foreseeable and unforeseeable value chain disruptions.
• Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.

Process Management:

Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control, or enhance existing business or work processes.

• Removes obstacles and barriers to process improvement.
• Creates mechanisms for regular process reviews and continuous process improvement.
• Plays a leading role in business process definition and supporting infrastructure.
• Monitors marketplace for process ideas, new tools, and best practices.
• Interprets and communicates process management data for complex problems.
• Consults on process optimization approaches, tools, and techniques.

Quality Management:

Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques and ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization.

• Interprets results of quantitative and statistical tools and explains results to others.
• Communicates key benefits of a quality management process.
• Conducts and directs quality reviews.
• Develops expertise in quality assurance tools, techniques, and standards.
• Develops quality assurance processes based on Six Sigma, ISO 9000 or Baldrige principles.
• Develops programs for motivating employees to meet or exceed quality goals.

Decision Making and Critical Thinking:

Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

Capacity Planning & Management - MFG:

Knowledge of tools, approaches and practices for determining production demand and ability to manage resources needed to provide satisfactory levels of service.

• Monitors and predicts capacity trends and cycles; communicates back to forecasting staff and systems.
• Leads capacity planning and management across the enterprise.
• Leads evaluations of the validity and reliability of current and capacity planning methods and tools.
• Assimilates capacity forecasts into an overall plan for manufacturing resources.
• Develops policies and practices for shifting capacity across multiple plants.
• Consults on the historical comparison of planned vs. actual; addresses variances.

Industrial Engineering - MFG:

Knowledge of industrial engineering processes, techniques and methods; ability to design and implement various processes and support infrastructures that safely realize a desired objective or invention.

• Facilitates the integration of manufacturing systems and processes across functions.
• Works with complex industrial engineering activities in manufacturing environments.
• Advises others on the industry/organizational best industrial engineering practices and rationale.
• Monitors and optimizes the capability, safety and production of current manufacturing processes and systems.
• Trains others on most components of industrial engineering related to manufacturing.
• Evaluates the effectiveness and efficiency of all engineering activities in the manufacturing organization.

Strategic Sourcing:

Knowledge of strategic sourcing methods, technologies and processes; ability to analyze, improve and re-evaluate organizational procurement process continuously.

• Participates in monitoring the execution for all stages of the strategic sourcing process.
• Trains others on strategic sourcing in multiple and diverse environments.
• Designs and develops standard supplier agreements and procurement policies with standardized terms and conditions.
• Works with complex strategic sourcing components including but not limited to negotiations, contracting, and continuous process improvement and implementation.
• Consults on strategic sourcing methods in relation to business relationships, inter-dependencies and integration.
• Develops and explains strategic sourcing best practices and rationale for the organization and industry.

This role will be based out of Decatur, IL.
