The Manager, Business Process will provide leadership to all efforts at plant sites to include safety, planning, operations, customer services and maintenance functions. Additional objectives include asset protection, financials, budgeting, cost control, environmental, personnel and community relations. This position will support the management teams and hourly employees for our locations in the Des Moines District.

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively communicates and drives organizational change.
  • Cultivates a positive safety culture in assigned operations by championing Guardian Angel and Wing Man principles and philosophy.
  • Supports production activities to ensure strict adherence to cost and quality standards and takes immediate corrective action when deficiencies are noted; achieves production targets as directed.
  • Provides leadership resulting in maximum production, exceed customer expectations, ensure product quality and drive maximum profitability.
  • Builds effective teams and develop direct reports for future opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with company, local, state and federal rules and regulations.
  • Support management teams in operations to achieve safety, production and environmental objectives and metrics.
  • Perform all activities in accordance with the Company's Mission, Vision, and Values, and in compliance with the Company's policies, procedures, and Code of Ethical Business Conduct.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position will have no direct reports
Work Environment:

This job operates 75% of the time at Fort Calhoun and 25% at various district production sites. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copiers.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position.

Travel:

Travel will be frequent within the district. Out-of-area and overnight travel is not frequent.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • 5+ years of work experience in the aggregate and asphalt industry with direct experience in managing the maintenance of construction equipment
  • Strong analytical skills: ability to manage, implement and adapt to change
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
  • Extensive mechanical knowledge of heavy construction equipment
  • Familiarity with development and managing preventative maintenance programs
  • Previous experience operating and maintaining construction equipment, asphalt plants and related equipment
  • Previous experience developing and executing business plans and business strategies
  • Excellent leadership skills and the ability to motivate others
  • Ability to provide direct and actionable feedback
  • Proven success with developing people and teams
  • Ability to make decisions in a timely manner and sometimes under tight deadlines and pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including written and oral communications; relationship building as well as presentation skills to present project concepts and manage change at all levels within the company
  • Self-motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment
  • Highly skilled in use of Microsoft Project, Excel, Power Point, and other productivity tools
