About The Role:

CALSTART is seeking an analytical and detail-oriented Lead Project Manager - Business Analysis to oversee business analytics for its medium and heavy duty infrastructure incentives, including but not limited to its EnergIIZE project.

Under the direction of the Deputy Director of Infrastructure - Commercial Vehicles, the Lead Project Manager - Business Analysis will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and interpreting project financial and operational data to provide valuable budget and operational improvement insights that ensure the continued financial integrity, compliance, and efficiency of medium and heavy duty infrastructure incentives.

Additionally, the role will be responsible for team and people management, resource coordination, and ensuring the successful progression of project improvements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematical reasoning; document creation, retention, and management; team and people management; project management and budgeting; and familiarity with payment processing for compliance and accuracy.

What You'll Do:

  • Establish a clear vision for the role, its mission, and the strategic objectives needed to move the project forward
  • Lead by example to inspire and motivate your team, building relationships founded on trust and accountability
  • Identify project barriers and roadblocks, promote and manage strategic change to drive and improve results
  • Analyze project operational data, trends, and metrics to provide recommendations to management
  • Support and prepare presentations on operational and financial reports and dashboards to communicate findings and recommendations to management
  • Support the development of operational and financial forecasts and models that contribute to project budgeting, planning, and decision-making
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic clean fuel and infrastructure goals and initiatives
  • Establish document control processes and workflows to manage the creation, review, approval, and retention of internal control documents
  • Develop comprehensive project plans for project deliverables including scope, objectives, timelines, budget, resources, and deliverables
  • Track project deliverable progress, milestones, risks, roadblocks and, present comprehensive risk analyses to collaborate and develop solutions
  • Stay informed on ZEV (zero emission vehicle) industry trends, best practices, and innovative technologies
  • Foster a productive work environment that promotes accountability, communication, and continuous improvement

What You'll Bring to the Table:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Accounting, or equivalent experience
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Industry experience in government funding regulations and grant management
  • Experience in managing project budgets, forecasting, and change management
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail
  • Supervisory or leadership experience
  • Project management experience

Desired Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in advanced mathematics including calculus, statistics and algebra is highly desired
  • Masters in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Mathematics, or related field
  • Business Analyst Certification from a certifying body (such as IIBA or CBAP)
  • Skills in decision-making, prioritization, and conflict resolution
  • Capacity to lead and provide guidance and mentorship to team members
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Knowledge of project management tools such as Monday.com, Salesforce, Microsoft, and JIRA

$85,000 - $103,000 a year
