Job Summary:
Serves in the lead capacity for the MRI Department. Performs MRI examinations on patients of all ages for the purpose of assisting in the diagnosis of patient illnesses, assisting physicians and other medical staff. Directs work of the department and is responsible for staff performance. Serves in a formal preceptor role to onboard new employees. Demonstrates flexibility and assists with scheduling and staffing including weekend, holidays and call coverage (where applicable). Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
Minimum of three years of MRI technologist experience is required. Five years of MRI technologist experience is preferred.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:Graduate of an JCERT approved two-year or four-year radiologic technology, nuclear medicine program, or MRI program is required.
TRAINING DESCRIPTION:
Successful completion of a cross-sectional anatomy class is required.
SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:
Ability and demonstrated competence in IV insertion and contrast injection; ability to assimilate new procedures into work routine is required.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:ARRT (R)(MR) registered. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire
