The R&D Lab Operations Lead is responsible for leading the team responsible for ensuring the smooth operations of the Assay R&D laboratories by responding to associate needs and collaborating cross functionally with EH&S, Calibration, Facilities, and other teams.

This position is part of the Research & Development department and will be onsite in Sunnyvale, California. The R&D Lab Operations Lead will report to the R&D Lab Manager.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Proactively identify and resolve issues with services, equipment, and supplies with associates
• Assist associates with recommending laboratory equipment/systems and coordinate installation of any equipment, assuring that all equipment requirements, including lab utilities and any safety requirements are met.
• Inspect labs for compliance with regulations and guidelines pertaining to the use, handling and disposal of potential biohazards.
• Assist with lab audits by regulatory agencies.
• Go to Gemba with EHS and Biosafety teams to identify nonconformance's and propose and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of lab management experience at a molecular diagnostics company, public health laboratory or similar institution
• Understanding in Molecular Biology Techniques and preferably experience from real time PCR
• Ability to perform 1st level triage on lab technical issues associated with computers, GeneXpert instruments or general lab equipment (debug station setup, swap device/SW versions, troubleshoot data connection issues, analyze reported error logs, etc…)
• Knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Control requirements in a GMP laboratory setting. Experience in writing SOPs and demonstrated ability to develop and monitor quality improvement plans and SOPs.
• Ability to collaborate and provide support to the lab management and the Research teams to ensure seamless day-to-day laboratory operations, including general lab cleaning/organization and space planning.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Cross functional collaboration with EHS, calibration, facilities, janitorial and IT to resolve issues in the labs.

The salary range for this role is $103,000 to $160,000 USD. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
