JOB SUMMARY:

The Inventory Control Clerk / Counter is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy in the Mill, Assembly and Distribution. Requires the ability to solve both short-term issues (e.g. correcting on-hand quantity) and long-term issues (e.g. identifying root causes of discrepancies) Perform cycle counts and physical inventories daily, according to our preplanned Quarterly Inventory Schedule. This requires interaction with material handlers, supervisors, lead persons and others in all departments. This position will report directly to the Inventory Control Supervisor.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

· Complete regular cycle counts to verify stock accuracy and identify discrepancies.

· Weekly rack audits.

· Assist with reconciling on-hand inventories with system data.

· Creates and use various reports in JDE, and Excel.

· Work with inventory team on root cause investigations of inventory discrepancy issues.

· Work with Quality Control to ensure that scrap transactions are performed in a timely manner on non-performing raw material and finished goods.

· Frequently navigate the warehouse at a brisk pace to conduct inventory checks

· Work with supervisors to ensure value stream inventory practices.

· Cross training in Back-flushing and Palletization.

· Maintain the 5 Ss in all areas of work, and work to make inventory processes better.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Education/Experience:

· 1 – 3 years in inventory control mid-sized manufacturing required.

· Previous JDE or MRP system experience is a plus.

· Experience in Microsoft Excel and Word is required.

· Forklift certified a plus; employee may need to become certified on various materials handling equipment.

· College Background will be plus.



Skills:

· Strong attention to detail, and basic math and computer skills.

· Candidate must have ability to analyze information, and be a process thinker.

· Work in a fast-paced, and high-pressure environment.

· Be a team player and adapt well to multitasking.

· Position requires flexibility to cover other inventory related functions as needed to support production. This includes receiving and back-flushing.
