HMS has a 130 year-long tradition as a renowned marine biological station. The research and academic mission of the station supports interdisciplinary teams from multiple departments at Stanford with more than 15 faculty, 30 staff, 20 postdocs, and 40 graduate students on site. As the mission of HMS grows, the station must have parallel growth in its infrastructure. The Hopkins Marine Station Associate Director will lead three vital lines of infrastructure operations: planning and execution of government/community relations; marine operations and safety; and facilities and capital planning. How the position grows in its leadership and support of those lines of operation will be dynamic; the school is looking for a collaborative person to help us do that. This position will report to the Chair of the Oceans department and take direction from the SDSS Dean's Office.Your responsibilities will include:
